Self Reflection - How to speak so that people want to listen
Self Reflection - How to speak so that people want to listen
After having this presentation in TED Talk, I realised that there are at least 7 sins I should avoid in my talks and speeches, including gossip, judging, negativity, complaining, excuses, lying, and dogmatism. That is how I could impact the communication and how I let the audience listen to me. To do that, I have to
Be honest
No doubt that the audience likes to listen to people who honestly and openly share their stories and opinions.
Authenticity
This is mean to be me. Do not try to imitate someone else instead of simply being myself.
Integrity
Doing what I say and walk the talk. Then, I could gain trust, and the audience will listen more carefully.
With positive emotions
With the positive emotions, that I may raise the vibration and spread joy instead of hate.
Maybe I cannot speak very well to people who simply are not listening in an environment that’s all about noise and bad acoustics, but if we were speaking powerfully to people who were listening consciously in environments that fit our purpose.
